Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor posts are offered on contract basis, while Senior Resident posts are on honorarium basis.

Educational Qualification
Professor
- Associate Professor in the concerned subject for 3 years at a recognized medical institution.
- At least 2 research publications after becoming Associate Professor, among the first three authors.
- Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research.
- Basic Course in Medical Education is also required.
- A Senior Consultant with 3 years of experience as a postgraduate teacher of a broad or super specialty subject at an NBE-recognized government medical institute is also eligible.
- MBBS and additional qualification must be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council.
Associate Professor
- Assistant Professor in the concerned subject for 4 years at a recognized medical institution.
- 5 years of experience is required for candidates appointed directly as Assistant Professor in a government medical institution.
- At least 2 research publications after becoming Assistant Professor, among the first three authors.
- Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research.
- Basic Course in Medical Education is also required.
- A non-teaching Consultant, Specialist or Medical Officer with a postgraduate medical degree and 10 years of experience in a government hospital having at least 220 beds is also eligible, subject to the prescribed conditions.
- MBBS and additional qualification must be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council.
Assistant Professor
- One year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject at a recognized medical institution.
- Tutor or Demonstrator experience with the relevant postgraduate qualification may be counted as equivalent.
- A non-teaching Consultant, Specialist or Medical Officer with a postgraduate medical degree and at least 2 years of experience in a government hospital having at least 220 beds is also eligible.
- Specific eligibility provisions are available for eligible diploma holders with the prescribed experience.
- MBBS and additional qualification must be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council.
Senior Resident
- Postgraduate degree in the concerned subject such as MD, MS or DNB.
- Postgraduate MSc with PhD is accepted for Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology and Microbiology.

Selection Process
- For Professor and Associate Professor posts, the duration of teaching experience in the respective cadre and total teaching experience will be considered.
- DNB candidates will be selected according to the applicable NMC guidelines.
- The selection is nationwide.
- Preference will be given to local candidates for Assistant Professor-level posts, while candidates from other areas will be considered if local candidates are not available.
- Professor and Associate Professor posts belong to the state cadre.
- The prescribed reservation rules will be followed.

Important Instructions

- Selected candidates must submit a relieving order from their previous institute.
- Candidates already working on contract in the same cadre at another Government Medical College in Telangana are not eligible.
- The selected faculty will work under the administrative control of the institute on a whole-time basis.
- If a selected candidate does not join, the next eligible candidate in the merit order may be selected.
